  • Furnishings with wide, heavy bases so that they cannot topple over
  • Controlled water temperature so as not to be too hot
  • Gated or inaccessible stairs
  • Furnishings with soft material covering hard and sharp corners
  • Adapt furnishings at the height of a child's head when sitting and standing to create a safe area to play
  • Lock up all medicines and cleaning products in cabinets
  • Remove all hard or sharp objects
  • Move play areas from area of door swings
  • Incorporate natural materials and finishes that create a healthy, sustainable environment
